Under the auspices of TTCP LND (collaboration with AU, CDN, NZ, UK, USA) a ballistic armour support pack, having better biofidelity, was developed for realistic assessment of ballistics performance of lightweight soft armour systems. It is a multi-layer foam pack representing the epidermis, dermis, and soft tissue to represent skin perforation resistance and bodily dynamic compliance. Suitable for V50 and Vproof testing of protective ballistic resistant materials and can be configured to measure projectile residual velocity and absorbed kinetic energy of penetrating projectiles or fragmentation.
