Biokinetics takes an active role in the advancement of ballistics test standards and the evaluation of the protective benefits and capacity of personal armour systems.

STANDARDS

Biokinetics is involved in standards development and participates in the ASTM E54 Committee on Homeland Security Applications dealing with ballistics and stab resistance of body armour, and contributes to the NATO STANREC 4744 – Risk Assessment of Non-Lethal Kinetic Energy Projectiles. We regularly advise and consult with regulating bodies in the military and law enforcement community.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Biokinetics contributes to the scientific body of ballistics and injury mitigation at conferences, such as the International Symposium on Ballistics (ISB) and the International Personal Armour Systems Symposium (PASS), where we have presented our advances in injury assessment test methods, injury assessment and evaluations of protective technologies.

ACCREDITATION

Biokinetics is an independent laboratory accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 thereby providing confidence in your test results with the globally recognized quality management system. Controlled Goods

Biokinetics is registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program with compliance to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Controlled goods are primarily goods, including components and technical data that have military or national security significance, which are controlled domestically by the Government of Canada and defined in the Defence Production Act.

TEST SPECIFICATIONS

Biokinetics can test to many of the ballistic standards published by the following standards organizations; ANSI, ASTM, CAST, CEN, CSA, DOT, HOSDB, NATO, NIJ, UL, VPAM, Military and Law Enforcement. Examples include NATO AEP-2920, NATO AEP-55 VOL. 1, NIJ 0101.06, NIJ 0101.07, NIJ 0108.01, UL 752, MIL-STD-662F, and EN 1063.
